Match Report by Allan Hefferon
Bearsted’s woes were to still be following them after they competed well throughout and certainly this result, being robbed of at least a point with almost the last kick of the game bore this out. However it took only 8 minutes for Sevenoaks to take the lead when Keinon McCann received the ball out on the left to send in a deflected shot past goalkeeper Scott Andrews. The response was positive and 10 minutes later a ball sent in from by Keelan Mooney found the head of Andy Irvine to steer the ball low past goalkeeper Oshane Brown. The remainder of the half although flowing end to end, never really provided any real chances for either side before they went in for the half time break.
The commencement of play provided much of the same, but the home side were to go back into the lead after 52 minutes when following some slack play from an innocuous position at the back, which McCann was able to exploit before feeding the ball to Billy Bennett to run on and fire past Andrews. The lead once more though was short lived and within 4 minutes the Bears were level once more, when a Michael Holliday corner from the right was not successfully dealt with and allowed Bradley Webb to thrash the ball home from close range. As the half progressed so the game began to provide some good opportunities for both sides, but maybe the best one fell to the visitors when a cross from the left just eluded Matt Garner before coming back across to Webb for him to be denied by keeper Brown. Unfortunately for them though they were once more heading for disappointment again, when some indecisive play from the back, allowed Harrison Camacho to seize the chance of dance through the penalty area to score and win the game.
