Under 16's KYL vs Chatham Town FC

Match Date: 29 January 2017
Score: 2-2

Bearsted FC haven’t had a game yet in 2017 and so a well needed game against Chatham was welcomed. The Bearsted boys requested to hold a minute’s silence in memory of our ex goalkeepers Mum Jenny Tester who sadly passed away yesterday.

The game kicked off and Bearsted dominated the game and after 20 minutes James Hursey broke through one on one and slipped the ball passed the Chatham keeper to make it 1-0 Bearsted. The next 15 was slightly frustrating for BFC as they should have taken a few chances but instead Chatham kept pressing and eventually won a penalty just before half time. Lucas Yazdanfar pulled off a fantastic save to deny Chatham and as Bearsted broke James Hursey sprinted through again and scored a great goal to make it 2-0 Bearsted. Half time came and it remained 2-0 Bearsted.

The second half kicked off and Bearsted started to play some good football, this seemed to fade away and then they began to hoof the ball long and not keep possession. Chatham managed to break with a ball over the top and slotted home a goal to make it 1-2 Chatham. Bearsted couldn’t seem to get control of the game again and 5 minutes before time they scored a second to finish the game at 2-2.
The boys let this slip through their fingers and need to learn from this.

Man of the Match: Ali Petrie
