Under 15's KYL vs Bredhurst FC

Match Date: 05 February 2017
Score: 2-2

Bearsted welcomed Bredhurst to Honey Lane for what was going to be a tough match.

The game kicked off and Bearsted played some great football, chances were being created at both ends and the match seemed fairly even, today looked so much better from Bearsted the attitude and the passion was more noticeable. The game got to half time and the score remained at 0-0.

The second half kicked off and Beartsed started with the fire in their belly, pushing hard and keeping possession, which was good and showed confidence. The ball came through the middle with some good football and eventually JK flipped a perfect ball into Matt Morse who battled with the keeper and centre back and somehow found the back of the net to make it 1-0 Bearsted. As expected Bredhurst up their tempo and started to press and after a looping ball that bounced off the keeper they slotted home the loose ball to pull the game equal 1-1. The Bearsted boys started to get a bit unsettled but still looked as though they wanted compete, Bredhurst managed to get a ball through the middle and the shot at goal was stopped by the keeper only to see the follow up smashed home to make it 1-2 Bredhurst. This was against the play slightly and now was going to be a test for the boys going behind for the first time in the game. Bearsted kept their composure and played some fantastic football, after a battle on the edge of the box Bearsted were awarded a free kick and Matt Morse stepped up placed the ball down and fired a smoker into the top corner to make it 2-2 with 10 minutes left.

The boys were buzzing and now were looking for a winner with Billy Easby’s overhead kick almost going in the bottom corner and JK hitting a superb shot from outside the box the bounced off the cross bar. The game finished 2-2 after a superb effort from every team player today, this was a game were 3 or 4 boys could have won man of the match with some outstanding performances and great goals….
