Under 18's KYL vs Chatham Town

Match Date: 12 November 2017
Score: 3-2

On this blustery November morning we were in high spirits after our draw with top of the table VCD the previous week. The game started well for us and we were keeping the ball fine. After 5 minutes the Chatham striker found himself with half a yard of space on the edge of our area and we didn't close him down and found ourselves 1-0 down . On the 40 minute mark our equaliser came down the right hand side with the impressive Jay Gibson cutting the ball inside for Cinton Omenyi to cross in , Joel Lake took a swing at it , and his miss gave Harry Tritton the opportunity to put us level with a fine finish into the left corner where their keeper could only get a hand to.
But 1-1 was the halftime score, thanks to Ben Cornelius making a great one on one save to go in level.
Second half , and once again Ben Cornelius made another good save and then a quality throw to Jay Gibson who quickly played it off to Joel Lake , Joel sent Clinton Omenyi just inside the righthand side of their box and he fired the ball across , where Harry Tritton was steaming in , and bundled the ball in to put us 2-1 up.
After 13 minutes of the second half, and with us having a good amount of possession we shot ourselves in the foot, we had a free kick just inside our own half and our player scuffed the freekick with his studs, the ball was live, I was screaming at someone to get it but no one seemed to realise , except the Chatham players. They nicked the ball and in a few short passes it was 2-2.
Then came our winner on 70 minutes, Jack Pleckinger won the ball in his own half and brought it towards their area , he played a one two with Jaiden and the ball ricocheted to Fin pearl who quickly dinked it out wide to the extremely hard working Joel Lake , who crossed it in ,
their keeper could only parry the ball and Jaiden Mansallay bravely leapt to get us a much needed and deserved win.
With 4 points in our last two games against good opposition I feel we have finally turned the corner.
Man of the match: Jay Gibson
