Under 16's KYL vs Sheppey

Match Date: 06 May 2018
Score: 2-1

Bearsted traveled to Sheppey and was faced with playing on a pitch that was in the worst condition ever seen for a Kent youth game, with grass in some areas over 6 inches long, however after making the effort to attend it was decided to play the game.

The game kicked off in hot conditions and the boys battled well, setting the pace high and controlling the game. After 15 mins Billy Easby came up from the back for a corner and headed a belter into the top corner to make it 1-0 BFC. Then the boys picked the pace up even more and began to press Sheppey for every ball and it paid off as from a great through ball from Gilbert to the back post Jake Bates poked the ball home to make it 2-0 BFC. Several more chances came and BFC were disappointed not to be 3 or 4 up, Sheppey never gave up and tested Jamie Martin in goal a few times but Jamie pulled 3 great saves off to keep BFC well in the game but then from a set piece Sheppey scored a good header that he managed to tip onto the post but unfortunately rolled in to make it 2-1. Half time came and the scored remained 2-1.

The second half saw BFC manage the game well defending strong and catching Sheppey on the break but never lead to a goal. The game finished 2-1 Bearsted and a very well deserved 3 points today...
