First Team vs Canterbury City

Match Date: 02 March 2019
Score: 1-1

This was the first meeting between these two sides this season, both finding themselves in the middle of the table.
The game started a bit late due to a dead rat being found on the pitch, rather strange.
The game did eventually start and Bearsted were first to start moving forward and looking to attack and after 5 mins their efforts were rewarded when Ryan Croucher played a great ball forward to David Baranowskiwho out muscled the defender allowing the ball to rebound from the upright straight to Baranowski who tapped home from close range 0 - 1
This seemed to bring the home side to life in trying to get forward and in fact they created a couple of long range efforts one which went wide and another from Adam Woollcott from distance which crashed back off the cross bar for Scott Andrews to gather safely. The rest of the half was contested evenly with not much to report.

The second half started in much the same fashion, although the home side did start to get the ball forward quicker and more direct, although wayward crosses and shots combined with stout Bearsted defending prevented the home side from drawing level All that changed though on 73 mins when a failed clearance fell to Adam Woollcott 22 yards out and he shot past Scoot Andrews to make the score level.

This sent the game into the last 15 mins and also into the best period of the game with both sides striving to sore a winning goal, but both goalkeepers had other ideas and between them pulled off a number of great saves to earn their respective sides a hard earned point each.
