First Team vs Sheppey Utd

Match Date: 13 April 2019
Score: 1-3

Once again the Bears' started this game at full throttle, and it only took 3 mins for Peter Williams to out fox Lee Wharton, Sheppey keeper stranded on the edge of his box, thus allowing Williams to fire home from 15 yards. 1-0.The home side forced Sheppey back and the visitors were struggling to get into the match let alone the opposition half indeed it took the visitors 24 mins to create their first attack and Emmanual Fernandez 25 shot was easily saved by Scott Andrews in the Bears' goal. Although the Bears were in control they were not really making the most of the possession
and once again chances were going begging. Sheppey though did find a life line, very much against the run of play when a long ball forward found Sheppey leading scorer Dan Bradshaw out on the
left wing where he advanced into the Bears' penalty area and laid the ball back for William Thomas to rifle home an unstoppable shot past the home keeper 1-1 28 mins.
This did not faze the home side who continued for the rest of the first half creating more chances
Sadly none of which were converted. Half time 1-1.
As is so often the case, would the Bears' rue not taking advantage of their dominance and half a dozen chances missed
Not at the start of the second half did that seem the case, the Bears' again started lively, but as the game wore on play became very scrappy from both sides. Both sides did create a few half chances, but it was the visitors who were to go in front on 73 mins when after some good inter change of passing Ibrahim was able to for home from six yards 1-2
The Bears were now chasing the game throwing players forward thus leaving gaps at the back where the experienced Bradshaw took advantage to fire home a third for Sheppey 3-1 93 mins.
Sadly for the Bears' for all the quality of their play yet again we created far more chances than our opponents but were unable to capitalise and go on to win.
