Under 18's KYL vs VCD

Match Date: 09 September 2018
Score: 4-3

Bearsted travelled to Crayford to face VCD Athletic FC in their first game of the season in the u18’s Premier North league.

The game kicked off and the Bears linked up well and was playing the better football, this is only the third game they have played together but it looked liked they had played as a squad for years. VCD got a free kick just outside the box and against play managed to find the bottom corner to make it 0-1 after 15 mins. Bearsted settled straight back into the game and after four perfect one touch passes Jordan Ababio rounded the keeper and slotted home an equaliser to make it 1-1.

Bearsted hit the cross bar and created chances but half time came with a 1-1 score line but the Bears had played better football which was very positive.

The second half kicked off and the Bears started strong again controlling the play and creating chances, once again after a through ball from Charlie Allen Jordan beat his man for pace and smashed the ball passed the keeper to make it 2-1 Bears!!!

VCD never let down and only 4 mins later took advantage of a deep back line to get a cross in finding a player at the back post to head home to bring the game back level to 2-2. However, Bearsted kept their cool and began to press high and after some fantastic link up and a cross in from the right Connor Heasman buried the ball with a volley in the corner to make it 3-2 Bears!!! He never stopped there and 7 minutes later picked the ball up just inside the box and calmly slotted the ball round a bundle of players to make it 4-2 Bears.

With 6 minutes to go VCD took a quick corner to catch Bearsted out and they managed to head home a third from an unmarked back post to make it a 3-4 score line, this is where the lads showed great composure and managed the game out to win 4-3 and gain the first 3 points of the season. Every boy gave 100% today and some of the football was a joy to watch.

Thank you to VCD Athletic FC for their hospitality and making us welcome today.

Up the Bears!!!
