First Team vs Corinthian

Match Date: 20 November 2018
Score: 0-4

By Allan Hefferon

On a wet and cold evening this result was particularly disappointing one as it brought an unbeaten 11 game run. However on the night they should have no complaints as they were beaten by a young side playing some good football one worthy of this result. From the start it soon become apparent that Bearsted were in for a difficult evening and as such for long periods they found themselves having to defend as well as not really getting into a stride and able to build any real attacks of their own. No surprise then that Corinthians were to go in front after 19 minutes when taking advantage of the wet surface, Oscar Ousego thrashed the ball into the left hand corner past the hand of Scott Andrews from the edge of the penalty area. Unfortunately for the home side it took only 5 minutes for them to go further behind when in similar style Jack Bata fired home a free kick, again from the edge of the box and leaving their opponents a lot to think about during the half time break.

Bearsted’s reply after the break looked a lot more positive but the game was pretty well wrapped up early in the half Shaun Brown found himself on hand to put the ball once into the net once more. With things now becoming a damage limitation effort for the hosts and to some extent this proved to be successful, but unfortunately for them things eventually became worse when just before the final whistle Sam Benwick found himself in on goal and complete his team’s mission for the evening.

Team S.Andrews, R.Golding J.Bessey-Sadanha , A.Foster, G.Andrews,,C.Croucher R.Croucher, M.Ganer, (M.Hathway) J.Rogers, R.Collins,, C.Scarlat, L.Scarlat
