First Team vs Lordswood

Match Date: 13 October 2020
Score: 4-2

The Bears' started this game a bit like the weather, rather gloomily.
Lordswood started much the brighter, getting the ball out to their wingers, making some menacing runs, particularly from Sam Stace on their right wing. It was Stace who was to take advantage of this early period when he managed to outpace the Bears' .defence and fire home to give Lordswood the lead 1 - 0. 9 mins. Stace again took advantage of some sloppy defending and fired home a second on 12 mins 2 -0.
The shell shocked Bears' now had to dig deep and fight their way back into the game.
Keeping their nerve, they settled and started to create bits and pieces.
The lifeline came when on 16 mins they were awarded a free kick, David Baranowski stepped up to send a great ball into the box where Lekan Mayjoyegbe nodded home 2 - 1.
There was a sigh of relief in the Bears; camp and confidence grew in their play and they started to create some half chances with Joel Wakefield, Elyon Marshall-Katung and Jordan Ababio
Coming close. The half ended a lot better for the Bears; than when it started
HT 2 - 1.
The second half started with the visitors looking a lot more settled, and getting their passing game going, taking control of proceedings. However, despite a few half chances and a great shot from Baranowski well saved on 60 mins, the Bears' dominance wasn't getting the rewards it deserved, this changed when on 77 mins Jon Rogers placed a fine ball into Elyon Marshall-Katung to fire home from 8 yards 2 - 2.
With Andy Irvine now on the pitch it was no surprise when he took his first chance, and fired home after another good attack 80 mins 3 - 2.

The Bears; were to go on and score again after some good inter play between Irvine and M.Katung, seeing the latter score his second on the night.85 mins.

FT 2 - 4.

After a poor start the Bears' showed great spirit to get back into and go on to win this game comfortably.
