First Team vs Holmesdale

Match Date: 28 August 2021
Score: 1-3

Once again injury ravaged Bearsted suffered another league defeat at Holmesdale.
After a quiet opening to the game it was the home side who were to take the lead when on
9 mins Owen Punselie latched onto a half chance to score 1-0.
The Bears' kept to their passing game but time and time again misplaced passing stopped much chance of controlling the midfield. The somewhat more direct style of the home side
seemed to suit the pitch better and Punselie helped himself to another goal on 30 mins 2-0.
Bears' spirits were raised shortly after this when Harrison Hatful was unlucky when his 20 yard free kick came back off the cross bar. Harrison was to score though on 40 mins when he fired home from close range.

Half time 2-1

The visitors stepped up their game in the second period but whilst enjoying more possession
never really tested the home side defence. Inevitably with the Bears' throwing every thing forward it was the experienced Nathan Palmer who was to put the game beyond the Bears' reach when he scored on 80 mins.

Full time 2-1.

This was a game where the Bears' were unable to impose their passing game and the more robust, direct style of the home side was be the difference on the day.
