First Team vs Burgess Hill

Match Date: 21 August 2021
Score: 0-3

Playing against higher opposition was always going to be a challenge, even more so when Bears' manager Kevin Stevens was forced to make six changes from the side who beat Banstead last Tuesday night.
Having said that, the first half was very even with neither side dominating or creating many clear cut chances. This changed though in the 48th minute of the first period, the visitors were awarded a soft looking free kick just inside the Bears' half, the resulting free kick was launched into the Bears' box, it wasn't dealt with and Daniel Uchechi put the visitors ahead.
Half time 0-1.

The home side came out for the second half in spirited fashion but sadly were to go further behind after only 5 mins, when Reggie Ward attacked down the right and managed to fire home in off the cross bar. 0-2. The Bears' now had a mountain to climb but showed their usual enthusiasm and spirit and whilst enjoying more than their fair share of possession were unable to make the breakthrough. The game was effectively all over on 61 mins, when Harry Pollard scored a third goal for the visitors 0-3.
Full time 0 - 3.

The odds were stacked against us today and with games coming up thick and fast Kevin Stevens will be looking forward to the return of the 10 or so injured players. COYB.
