2016 Fundraising

Following on from the beginning of the season when over £9,500 was raised at the Otham Summer Football Tournament, the Club’s social committee has continued in its’ efforts to raise further funds towards the constant improvements, the teams development and making sure that all of our sections are supported financially as well as possible.
Up until now we have held two social events, the autumn Bar-B-Q and Christmas Party, both held at the Lion of Kent. Also run in conjunction with the Christmas Party was our Annual Grand Raffle draw. These three fund raising efforts produced notable returns. The Grand Draw is exceptional with all teams, seniors and juniors as well as supporters and Friends of Bearsted Football Club all being particularly supportive.
The 100 Club. This season an effort was made to appeal to our Junior Section. They have not let us down and subsequently the response has been that we sold over 80 numbers. In addition to this the usual general sales to players, supporters and Friends of the Club have brought over 100 numbers. In principle, this season’s efforts will have far exceeded our usual overall net profit.
At this point a big thank must go out to our Junior Section which has responded magnificently to our cause in support of our 100 Club and Raffle ticket sales.
We now have to look forward to our other forthcoming events throughout New Year. As with Last year, it is anticipated that we have a ‘Quiz Nite’ in January at The Memorial Hall, Bearsted, A ‘Musical Quiz’, A Race Night and Dinner Dance in May all held at Bearsted Golf Club. So please make a point of constantly reviewing the website when all the dates will be finally confirmed. Let’s hope that we may continue to expand upon our numbers in our efforts of being a more inclusive club both on and off the field.
Watch out also for the date of our Football Tournament in June. Already plans are afoot for us organising this event immediately following the start of January. Last year’s effort was exceptional. However, should you feel that you would like to be involved in some way please contact Colin Whitfield, Jamie Houston or Simon Nixon. All contact details are on our website.
Finally, Many thanks to you all once more and A Happy New Year.
